Spring is in the air, and SCJH has no shortage of events to keep your calendar full!

April and May are busy testing months for all our SCJH students.  The students have worked very hard to prepare for these tests by learning strategies and organization methods.  During these testing days, the importance of a good night’s sleep, a hearty breakfast and arriving on time to school cannot be understated. The test dates for April are listed below.

8th Grade Reading – April 10th & 11th

7th Grade Reading – April 24th & 25th

8th Grade Math – April 26th & 27th

6th Grade Math – April 28th & May 1st

Progress reports for the fourth nine weeks will be posted to your students FOCUS account online on Thursday, April 13th.

There is no school on Friday, April 14th.

There is a scheduled early release day on Wednesday, April 19thStudents will be allowed to dress down for a donation of 50 cents (or more) towards the Well Project. Dismissal is at 12:45 p.m. There will be NO after school activities on this day.

Thursday, April 20th, SCJH is proud to host our annual Art Show.  This is an excellent time to view many of the projects that our talented students have created.  Light refreshments will be served. We will also hold a brief PTSO meeting during the show.  Remember, parents are required to attend four (4) PTSO meeting each school year.  There are two PTSO meeting remaining for this school year.

Our 5th Annual 5k is right around the corner, and this year’s theme is “Survival Rush”.  Dress up as your favorite Zombie Hunter or as a Brain Eating Zombie.  This is our largest fundraiser of the year. The fun begins Saturday, May 13th at 8:00a.m. and we would love to see all our SCJH families in attendance.  Registration forms are available on our website and in the front office. There is still time to sign up as a sponsor for the 5K Run/Walk. See Mrs. Tillis for details.

And remember, each registered participant will receive 4 volunteer hours.

Between testing, the 5k and the Art Show, there are many volunteer opportunities available to our parents and students.  SCJH utilizes a website called Track It Forward to handle all aspects of volunteering.  Once you have created a log in, you will be able to view and sign up for volunteer events, log your hours and track your progress.

As a reminder, parents are to have ten (10) volunteer hours and students are to have five (5) volunteer hours per school year.  Don’t have a Track It Forward log in?  Simply click the link below and follow the instructions.
