SCJH is rockin’ with 2016 school events sure to please!  Below are a few to jot on your calendar.


Wednesday, August 24th is an early release day for students.  All students will be released at 12:45 p.m.  

DRESS DOWN DAY TO BENEFIT THE WELL PROJECT years ago, our then sixth grade students read a book called “A Long Walk To Water”, which is a story about a young lady living in a remote village in the Sudan.  The book follows her daily struggles including the arduous task of collecting fresh water for the village.  This story moved our students to such a degree that they decided to take action.  This is how the “Build A Well” project was born.  Two years later, SCJH is over half way to raising the $5,000 required to build a fresh water well for a Sudan community.  As part of this fundraising project, this Wednesday, August 24th, students are given an opportunity to dress down for the day for a minimum donation of .50 cents (a larger donation is always welcome). Please refer to your parent/student handbook if you have any questions regarding appropriate attire for dress down days.


Our first event of the year is SCJH’s Back To School Bash.  Bring the whole family this Friday, August 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  There will be b-b-q food for sale including hamburgers and hotdogs, popcorn, chips, snow cones and bottled water.  After you have filled your bellies, spread out your blanket or set up your lawn chairs as we show “Zootopia” on our 220” screen.  All proceeds from the food sales go to pay for the wonderful after school activities that our students love so much!


Our first spirit night of the year is at Brain Freeze Café in Vero.  From 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., bring the family and enjoy foods from their delicious menu.  Brain Freeze will donate 10% of your total bill back to SCJH.  Be sure to the flyer that went home in last week’s Eagle Folder.  Additional flyers are available in the front office.


**Food donations are needed for the Back To School Bash.  Items needed include   hotdogs, hamburgers, buns, snack size chips, napkins, plates, bottled waters and ice.  If you are interested in donating any of these items for volunteer hours, please email Mrs. Tillis at
