James Elford takes 2nd place at the Florida State Science Fair
The Florida State Science and Engineering Fair Competition was held March 29-31, 2016 at The Lakeland Center, in Lakeland, FL.
SCJH 6th grader James Elford competed in the Junior Engineering category. His project title was: Supercharged Sunlight. He tested how the use of fresnel lenses can increase the efficiency of solar panels.
James was awarded 2nd place in the competition, which he attended with 19 other Indian River County middle school and high school students. View their Awards by region. Prior to the state competition, James competed in the Engineering category at regionals on January 30th, and received first place in his category and an engineer-in-training special award. He will be continuing his project early this summer by participating in the Broadcom Masters national competition.
